Bronze Head of Guestrow Memorial - Detailed cast of The Floating - Ernst Barlach
The "Head of the Guestrow Memorial" is a detailed cast of the "Floating", which Ernst Barlach created in 1927 for the Guestrow Cathedral. The "Floating" is a memorial for the fallen soldiers in the First World War. Barlach’s work as well as the work of Käthe Kollwitz in Nazi Germany was ostracised during Nazi-reign. The adjoining detail cast is signed with "E. Barlach".
As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections. The sculpture was manufactured as a smeltable wax model.
