Starfish - Art Deco Bronze - D. H. Chiparus
The sculpture on the left called “Starfish” is an artwork by Demetre Haralamb Chiparus. Demetre Haralamb Chiparus (also known as Dumitru Chipăruş) (16 September 1886 in Dorohoi, Romania – 22 January 1947 in Paris, France) was a Romanian Art Deco era sculptor who lived and worked in Paris.
The high-quality piece is hand-poured and subjects to strict quality criteria. The sculpture was made by the lost wax method practiced for thousands of years, a multi-step and time-consuming process for the production of art castings. It is 100 per cent of bronze.
