This attractive Art Nouveau bronze nude named "The Vine" was made by the sculptor Harriet Whitney Frishmuth in 1923 and is one of her best known sculptures. This artwork impresses with an extremely aesthetic representation of the female body and the seduction that radiates the lascivious stretched youthful beauty.

Harriet Whitney Frishmuth (1880-1980) was an American sculptor known for her bronze artworks. Her work was exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, the Salon in Paris, the Golden Gate International Exposition (19391940) and the National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors. She also exhibited with a group of women artists known as the Philadelphia Ten.
